Overview This module maps the real ways creators earn: platform programs, sponsors, affiliates, subscriptions and selling your skills. The linked policies explain account and content eligibility. The examples below are dated October 2026. These change often. Always check the official page before you plan around a number. Honest expectations: most creators never reach some of these thresholds. Platform payouts vary widely by topic, country and audience. Nothing here is a promise of income. The most reliable early money usually comes from selling a service or product to a small, trusting audience, not from ad revenue. Lesson 13.1: YouTube Partner Program YouTube has two levels: Earlier access to fan funding and selected Shopping features: in eligible countries, the expanded YPP requires 500 subscribers, three valid public uploads in 90 days, and either 3,000 valid public watch hours in 12 months or three million valid Shorts views in 90 days. Admission and individual features have additional conditions. YouTube’s expanded YPP requirements . Full monetization, including ad revenue: 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 valid public watch hours in the last 12 months or 10 million valid public Shorts views in the last 90 days ( YouTube Help: YPP overview and eligibility ). You also need to meet YouTube’s account, country and policy requirements, including two-step verification and the required AdSense setup. Check YouTube’s YPP eligibility page and the Earn tab in YouTube Studio. Do not plan around unconfirmed future threshold changes. Keep AI content monetizable. YouTube does not pay for "inauthentic" content, meaning content that is mass-produced or repetitive, such as videos made from a template with little variation ( YouTube’s channel monetization policies ). Your defences are the Module 3 rules: original research every week, real editorial choices, human review of every stage, no repeated jokes, and honest AI disclosure. Lesson 13.2: YouTube Shorts revenue sharing Shorts ads are pooled. YouTube puts Shorts feed ad revenue into a Creator Pool, splits it by each creator's share of engaged views, and creators keep 45% of their allocated amount. Music in a Short sends part of the revenue to music licensing ( YouTube Help: Shorts monetization policies ). Check the rights and licenses for every music track and visual in your actual kit. AI-generated narration alone does not establish ownership or monetization eligibility. Lesson 13.3: TikTok Creator Rewards Program TikTok lists a personal account in an eligible region, good standing, age 18 or older (19 in South Korea), at least 10,000 followers and at least 100,000 video views in 30 days among its eligibility requirements. Qualifying videos must be original and at least one minute long; meeting the account thresholds does not make every video eligible. Photo slideshows and text-only formats do not qualify as original content for this program. TikTok Creator Rewards requirements . Lesson 13.4: Instagram and Facebook programs Instagram Subscriptions: check eligibility and available features in your Professional Dashboard. Treat subscriptions as a potential revenue channel only after the account is accepted; do not budget for them from an unverified follower threshold. Instagram Gifts and Bonuses: confirm availability for your account in the Professional Dashboard. Keep any invitation, eligibility requirements and payout terms with your channel plan. Do not assume a bonus program is available to every creator. Threads Bonus: invite-only. Invites appear in your Instagram Professional Dashboard ( Social Media Today ). Facebook Content Monetization: review the program in your Professional Dashboard or Meta Business Suite. Check Meta’s program information and your account’s current terms before counting projected earnings. Lesson 13.5: X creator payouts X’s Original Content Rewards replaced Creator Revenue Sharing in September 2026. Eligibility includes an eligible location, age 18+, good standing, an eligible Premium subscription, 500 verified followers and 500,000 verified-user Home Timeline impressions in 90 days. Admission requires review. Payouts are generally every two weeks with a $30 minimum. X’s official requirements . Apply this to the media-kit workflow: X’s Original Content Rewards policy excludes content created or posted using automated means. It also excludes content focused exclusively on monetization coaching or maximizing payouts. Do not promise X rewards for this automated kit or course promotion. Original manual commentary is a separate editorial activity and still must meet the policy. Lesson 13.6: Podcasts The Spotify Partner Program requires a show hosted on Spotify for Creators, at least 3 episodes, 2,000 hours of consumption and 1,000 audience members on Spotify in the last 30 days, and an address in an eligible country. Creators earn 50% of ad revenue from ads Spotify sells in their episodes, plus a separate payout when Premium members watch th
