Because the connection is scoped to your account and your role is checked on every call, the assistant cannot do anything you could not do yourself. That is the floor. On top of it there are two rules that keep a connected assistant safe to leave running. The first is confirmation for actions that are hard to undo or that reach other people. Deleting, sending, publishing and inviting all need an explicit confirmation that the assistant may only give after you have agreed. In practice the assistant describes what it is about to do and waits. Reading, drafting and saving a private draft do not need that step, so most everyday work is uninterrupted. The second is that review gates stay human. Content pipelines on the platform pause at decisions such as approving a deck or a script before a video is made. The assistant can show you what is waiting and can record the decision you make, but it cannot make the decision for you. That holds whichever assistant you connect, because the rule lives on the server, not in the assistant. Disconnecting is done in the assistant, by removing the connector or the server entry. The sign-in tokens it holds expire on their own, so nothing else needs to be revoked. If you used an API key with an older Codex, delete the key on the Keys tab .
